So I was going to post yesterday, but it was my birthday and I didn't really feel like it. Anyway, this is a painting I did over the summer with really crappy fake gouache. Unbeknowst to me they were not water sollubile but instead had acrylic in them and dried like a plastic. Fortunatelty this didn't really affect the piece. I wont be showing any current work right away because I have plans to make an exhibition blog and put up all the themed work I did this semester there. Look for it soonish, maybe mid-December.
And, because I love giving links, check out the Christian Dollar Store. Some words to sum it up: horrifying, hysterical, misguided. Why? This site takes itself completely seriously and yet I don't know if they know what they're marketing. Like shirts that say "He's leading you on!" which are supposd to be positive messages of the lord leading you and yet have a phrasing that is culturally identified as negative. Very interesting. Also, I want all the scripture candy. Especially the Jesus lollipops.

This is Be-Bop. She was painted for my Water, Color and Paper class with Erica Adams.
This is a pretty acurate representation of her, except for the fact that the painting is much bigger that she actually is. And, of course, she has already chewed an edge off of it (you can't see it here). The colors aren't dead on, unfortunately, because I still haven't re-installed Photoshop yet.
I'm enjoying watercolor painting more and more, especially using a paper towel or sponge to remove layers of color. I'm working on some very cool paintings that you'll see here eventually.
And in other news, my school finally has online registration for courses. Now if they only had online signups for review boards...
